Hello! Here are some cylinders I picked up at the latest show in Wayne, NJ. I hope you enjoy them: “Favorite Airs From The Mikado” (Edison Light Opera Co) BA 2179 www.box.net/shared/9973k1k7eyThese directly-recorded cylinders had a sound like no other contemporary method! “Rigoletto Quartette” (Frank Croxton Quartette) BA 1528 www.box.net/shared/qtosjroo8jI figure the bass and tenor are Frank Croxton and Reed Miller, but who knows the soprano and mezzo? “La Marseillaise” (New York Military Band) BA 2439 www.box.net/shared/o3mrcrmz7vThis is loud, but with little distortion. “Lucia Sextette” (Sodero’s Band) BA 2609 www.box.net/shared/bdbjnaudtmThis is an early dubbed cylinder, but done very well in my opinion “At Peace With The World-Waltz” (Jack Stillman’s Orch) BA 5177 www.box.net/shared/yxqz8kuiytThis is a later dubbed cylinder, obviously done with less quality control. There’s quite a lot of distortion with this. These were transferred using my John Petty electric pickup. Enjoy! Bob Barnett

Great selections Bob. I always liked Croxton's English version of the Quartet from Rigoletto. I believe that the soprano was Agnes Kimball and the contralto was possibly Nevada Van Der Veer. These two Edison singers along with Miller made up Frank Croxton's Quartet as far as I know.
