Hello all, I'm one of the newer fans of the Edison Long Play records. I converted my S-19 (Sheraton) Diamond Disc player to LP capability in late March and now am buying the LP records.
Below is a list I've assembled that provides the recording dates for the contents of the LP discs. You'll see that the earliest issues contain content that was recorded just for them (in mid-1926). Later on, however, the Edison people used already-released Diamond Discs to dub to the LPs--and in the case of those DDs, many of them had also been dubbed to Blue Amberol (BA) or Purple Amberol (PA). Conversely, the Edison people used material recorded as far back as 1913 that had been released on any format.
Anyway, hope you find this list interesting and useful. I look forward to sharing my experiences in future with other Edison LP enthusiasts on this forum.
