Great! So does the lift lever pin just have to be driven out some way? It actually seems a bit easier than I originally thought.
Looks like I'll have a little "project" when i get home from work today!

Yep, that's all you have to do is drift that pin out, usually front to back. You might want to squirt some penetrating oil around the ends of the pin and let it soak in. That should loosen up 80+ yrs of crud and allow you to push the pin out a bit easier.

Again, thanks, Bill. I'm anxious to get this running so I can actually hear all the DDs I've been grabbing up on something other than the Brunswick or B-80. I'm certain this will be worth all the effort. My next job will be locating a nice replacement silk for the grill. This appears to have been a muted gold.

The spring barrels are very easy to remove two screws on the two barrel ones and four on the single barrel and the boards are universal. Just make a note of how the spring was wound in. Except for motor removal Edison is easier than Victor, especially the early ones that have the pressed in pin on the shaft.

Hey Sean, whats the update on the machine? Have a photo? I would have been there if I knew it was going up for auction.

Sean, I like your grill cloth! I removed mine early on because it noticeably decreased the volume of the records. Are there grill cloths that do not interfere with the sound?

Rocky I recall that subject being brought up in a post some time ago on the other board I believe. I have a very thin silk on my C-19 and I find it still sounds better/louder w/o the grille in place. BTW Sean, the C-19 is lookin' good!! Bill

True, the cloth was some sort o' silk (and brownish/gold) but it was falling off anyway. I just remove the grill when I play my machine, honestly! The deep red just happened to be something I had on hand and it does look OK, just not what was there when it was new!
Thanks Bill...after posting these pics, I noticed in the last one (with the grill cloth) it actually looks much less "rich" in the photo than it does in person! I'll see if I can get a better shot in natural light later today when I get home...

Sean, the curtains appear to frame the C-19 and make it all the more appealing! The machine is beautiful!

I found some old silk head scarfs that were a goldish tone and work great as grill cloths. Barely any difference in sound volume.. Besides its the way it would have been heard.. All cloth will slow the sound slightly, to be expected.
