Hi all, Just wondering what year the black paper label dds were issued, and for how long. Ive only come across one of these, so i take it that they werent around for too long. I guess they were the cross-over label between the pressed label, and the white label?

I only have one, also.....No. 50832, recorded in July, 1921. The black paper label was the early paper label. My guess is that the label was not around for long!

GS,
A black PAPER label? Cool, I've never run across one or an image of on on the 'net. What's it's design like? similiar to the etched labels?

GS,
Thanks, that's a good looking label. I wonder why they didn't stick with it? Maybe the black background was to similar to what most lateral record companies had and Edison certainly wanted to differentiate his product from the usual suspects??? Just a totally off the wall guess mind you.
Regards, J.

Could be. Or maybe just because the black label used more ink. I really dont know either. I agree though, that they are a pretty nice looking label.
