Hi!
I would ask your support.
Recently I bought Edison Amberola 30 Phonograph. As you hear in Youtube below, the first 30 seconds is in normal(4M Vulcan cylinder record), but after 30 seconds, the sound is not normal(4M Blue Amberol)
Those are same 4M cylinder records.
I would appreciate your support - what is wrong?

If you changed the video setting to something other than 'private', perhaps we could actually see it...

Yes, Tony from Korea, We cannot view the videos because they are marked "private". You have to change the video and mark them "public" so that we may view them.  ) Tony K. Edison Collector/Restorer |

Tony from Korea, Is that you in your Sig pic? You look like a very distinguished man!  Anyway, I went back and I watched your Amberola 30 video. I think that I know what the problem is. It would seem that the Vulcan cylinder (because it is new, It is also made thicker and higher than the Original 1920's Blue Amberol cylinder), so that the Diamond Amberola "C" reproducer does not have to drop as much to hit the cylinder. - What song is this Vulcan record cylinder by the way?? and what number??? It is a very snappy tune! To correct the problem with the playing of the Blue Amberol cylinder, Look at the front of the Diamond Amberola "C" reproducer, There will be a big flathead slotted screw on the front. Carefully loosen this screw just until it is just "all the way loose", then turn the screw back the other way just a bit until the screw is just barely snug. What this screw does as you loosen it - is it drops the reproducer lower onto the record as you loosen the screw. You might have to play with the screw tension awhile until the reproducer plays both the Vulcan and Blue amberols both correctly together. - Tip - The screw in front of the reproducer does not necessarily have to be snug, It can be loose in order to make the reproducer work correctly. I found this out a long time ago. The more that you rotate the screw counter-clockwise, the more the reproducer and needle drops.....and vice-versa.. The more that you rotate the screw clockwise, the higher it lifts the reproducer and needle. ) Tony K. Edison Collector/Restorer |
