I have 2 Edison Standard phonographs.
- Model D : It's 2 and 4 minutes combination. But 4 2minutes playing is noisy. So I use it in only 4 minutes playing.
- Model B : I use it for wax blank cylinder recording.
In addition, I'd like to buy one phonograph for 2 minutes playing.
Which model is the best one for only 2 minutes playing?
I'd like to ask your opinion.
Best regards,
Tony from Korea.

Your Standard Model B should play 2 minute records just fine. You only have to replace the recorder with a reproducer model C for black wax/moulded cylinders. For brown wax you should use an Automatic reproducer instead. Also be careful to fully retract the cutter, so you don't accidentally damage a record when changing.

Dear Alang,
Thanks for your advice. So far, I used Model B in playing and recording. But by changing reproducer and recorder, I could not make same recording quality in my short experience. So I decided that I will use my Model B in only recording under the fixed recorder and I will buy additional phonograph for only 2 minutes playing.
I will ask your advice again.
Regards.
Tony
