I received an Edison model C for my birthday. However, the needle assembly fell apart and I am unable to get it back together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By 'needle assembly', I assume you mean the stylus bar. That should have been held in place by a tiny screw through the pivot: did you remove the screw, or was it missing?

As you can see, the screw is still there. I assume the pieces somehow clip together as I hold them. However, they do not clip or fasten at all despite the screw.

Ah, I see: you mean the whole weight.
What does the threaded pin on the hinge block look like? (That part is unfortunately not visible in the photos). However, given the way the weight is lying flat in one photo, the pin may have broken off.
Remove the reproducer from the carriage, and examine the underside of the upper part, where the hinge should go. Is there a remnant of the pin in the hole? If so, you'll have to drill it out, obtain a new pin, and install it. This is a rather delicate job, and it is probably best to send the whole reproducer to an expert for rebuilding. Check the list of repairmen here, or on the Talking Machine Forum (TMF): there are some very good sources there.

Yep. Definitely a broken hinge pin.

Yeah, Looking at the rest of the reproducer, It looks like it rusted off! ) Parts and replacement reproducers are available on ebay. I suggest you go that route. Model C reproducers are fairly common. Save your old one for parts though. ) Tony K.
