Hey everyone,
Went out antiqueing today and happened across a few while Label Edisons.. Ones a rather dull religious one, one is a ernest Stevens piano piece I either had or have, and a Broadway dance band, with reverse side of the Kaplins Melodist.. I think.. this one seems pretty loud, its a number 51090.. The one that was most confusing says on one side Dreamy Hawaii Waltz, #50845 L but the Other side starts out with 52----9 I think.. Its title is Lucky Lindy.. Well I wasn't sure what to make of that. I have heard that the Electrical recordings are in that 52 range, but why would it be on the reverse of a Hawaiian piece with a different number? I went ahead and purchased it for curosity.. It turns out the Hawaii side isn't what it is labeled..Its also a Lindberg Song. Actually I think its the Lucky Lindy that the other side has on it. It must have fallen off and the party that had it got all the labels mixed up. Anyone know about this record. Fortunately of all the four recordings it is the clearest and silent of surfaces.. Is this a find or not? I need to get a discriptive list I guess of the recordings that evidently are out there somewhere..

Larry, is it 52029? Lucky Lindy / Lindbergh, Eagle of The USA
That's the only one I can find with Lucky Lindy on Edison. Not electric though, it was recorded on 5/27/1927, close to the switch but not close enough!

Hey Larry, For DDs I'm using the Truesound Discography that you can download from here: www.truesoundtransfers.de/disco.htmIt's an excel file that is pretty easily searched by field. One day I'll invest in the bound "real" DD discographies, but 'till then this does the job! And Chris Zwarg did these, so we're talking pretty reliable stuff. Sean

Larry,
Do you have Microsoft excel in your Apple machine (this may be the problem there)?
If you don't, you'd need something compatible with it to read the spreadsheet.
Sorry, I forgot you have an Apple machine!
