In my humble opinion, you would do well to drill out the neck from the horn, and send the reproducer to a good restorer, who may be able to ream it out and replace the neck.
You will probably have to replace the gaskets anyway, and have the stylus checked for wear (and replaced if necessary). I am not certain whether this would be more economical than finding a replacement Diamond C in good condition.

$40!?!?! That was the deal of the decade! How is the rest of the wood veneer on the machine?!?? I see that the Lid is shot. I have a much better one of the same exact type, but needs new veneer on top. It's top is intact though, unlike yours. $25 plus shipping if you want it...Just PM me. It appears to be a 1917 Series 2 Amberola 30 Model. Nice Score! I would also try to drill out the broken piece. I have found that about 85% of the time you try to drill out the piece, the piece just breaks loose and comes out on its own. Even if you screw up the horn, so what?? Others are around for like $25-$35. The reproducer body is pretty much toast. Sometimes you can find parts reproducers on ebay as well. Good Luck, and keep us informed!! ) Tony K.
