Bill, great dance tune! Thanks for taking the time to post it. It's always a treat---a real treat--to get a dance tune on BA that you might expect to find on a DD.
For some reason, "Oh Katherina" has a bit of the same exotic flair as "Titina." Has anyone else noticed that?

Great song Bill. Very funny. Green Bro's recorded a lot of those mad-cap silly songs I love. Thanks for posting it.

For some reason, "Oh Katherina" has a bit of the same exotic flair as "Titina." Has anyone else noticed that? Rocky Yeah, I know what you mean, but it could also be because this was paired with "Titina" on the Victor label. Here it is: "Titina" Fox Trot (from "Puzzles of 1925")(Maubon-Ronn-Daniderff) International Novelty Orchestra, vocal refrain by Arthur Hall 19586-B www.box.net/shared/p13pshaqfiFor comparison, here is their version of "O Katharina" "O, Katharina!"-Fox Trot (from Balleff's "Chauve-Souris")(L. Worlfe Gilber-Richard Fall) International Novelty Orchestra, vocal refrain by Arthur Hall 19586-A www.box.net/shared/bgdiairefeIt's interesting that most of the "Overweight Songs" that come to mind involve men remarking about women, such as Arthur Godfrey's "Too Fat Polka" and Hoagy Carmichael's witty "Huggin' and Chalkin." The only one I can recall referring to a man is "Mr Five-By-Five." These wouldn't be written today! Condensite

Also, Billy Murray recorded both "Oh Katharina" and "Titina" for Victor. However, I do prefer the dance band renditions.
