Let's see if we can get a little more involvement on Matt's board! Edward M Favor was mentioned in a recent post, so I thought I'd share one of my favorites along side Billy Murray's version of the same song, and were released in 1908. Both were recorded direct from my Amberola 1-A using a Mod M reproducer. Edison 2M #9976 Edward M. I too voted for Favor's rendition. While Murray did a good job, I feel that Favor was ideally suited to record the song. To put it another way, Murray demonstrated versatility in his delivery of the song; Favor sounded as though he was just being himself.

Bill, I favor Favor. ;D I hate to admit, I'd never heard of Edward M. Favor. Bill, Thank you for introducing me to yet another great voice. I looked him up on-line. Tim Gracyk has an interesting article: Edward M. Favor (August 29, 1856 - January 10, 1936) Thank you Bill. Regards, J.
