Hey gang, I posted this inquiry (below) on "the other board" a couple of days ago, and so far nobody has responded. Sheepishly I repeat it here, and sorry I didn't post here in the first instance:
Anybody here know anything about Cadillac Record Company, 1619 Broadway, New York 19, NY? Friend of mine was given this 10" 78 rpm (evidently late issue, appears to be vinyl not shellac), Cadillac 6010 "You Can't Make Honey" (Lindsay McPhail-Walt Michels), Graham Prince Combo and Sue Evans, b/b 6011 "On a Good Old Open Trolley" (Shelley-Stewart-Jaffe), Graham Prince Combo w/Sue Evans and The Merry Maids. Googled up this item and found one reference, an eBay listing:
~ rare ~ "GRAHAM PRINCE COMBO / SUE EVANS-Merry Maids" ... GRAHAM PRINCE COMBO and SUE EVANS with the "Merry Maids"Cadillac Label ..."On A Good Old Open Trolley"Graham Prince Combo Sue Evans and the Merry Maids ... cgi.ebay.com/rare-GRAHAM-PRINCE-COMBO-SUE-EVANS-Merry-Maids_W0QQitemZ4850094748QQcmdZViewItem
No further info posted: seller is "away."

Henry,
I've looked around a bit on-line to no avail. I'll keep looking.
Regards, J.
P.S. I was going to post same on the other board, but I didn't want to earn the ire of the guest who gave me grief last time I didn 't have a "Complete" answer ;D

HI John, I got back yesterday from a long Memorial Day weekend out of town and just now saw your message. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I've just about had it with the other board, for a variety of reasons, and I would like to see this one prosper, so I guess I should start contributing whenever I can be helpful. I do lurk on the other one, hoping to learn something (and I do, once in a while) but posting there is, for me, a very unsatisfying experience.
I suspect that Cadillac Record Co. was a very small and short-lived operation, judging from the dearth of information about it. Unfortunately, if you Google up "Cadillac" *anything* you get about a kazillion hits because of the automobile connection, which is totally irrelevant in this case.
But if you do come across any info about either the company or the performers I'll appreciate a few leads! Thanks again.
Henry

Henry, There's a list of "all" American record labels on wiki that I seem to stumble onto occasionally, I never remember to save the link! I did find it and check that-no luck. I did just get an idea though. I'll hopefully get back to you with something. Keep your fingers crossed. ;D Regards, J.

But John, it's hard to change needles with my fingers crossed! Any suggestions?

Hey John, thanks a million! I didn't know about that 78 yahoo group. BTW, I should know this, but what does ARLD stand for?
I'll relay this info to my buddy, who is the archivist at the Trolley Museum in Scranton. He was given that record for its trolley content, but I cautioned him not to play it on anything but a "modern" machine with electrical pickup. Can't play vinyl on my VV-XI!

Anybody know for sure?
