Has anyone ever seen a disc with a different disc # on each side? I have one where one side has 50520-R, The Preacher and the Bear, and the opposite side is 80456-L, Nadja - Oriental Intermezzo. The disc has the earlier pressed label. Not the paper one and the label is correct for the music on there. Raymond Wile's discography doesn't mention it.
Thanks, Tim

Tim, That's a pretty neat anomaly. I have 50250 on a later paper labeled DD (this record wasn't cut-out from the catalog and remained until the doors closed in 1929) but my L side is Coon 'Possum Hunt by Golden & Heins, which is as it should be. The flip (R side) of 80456 was Passion Dance by the Peerless Orchestra. The only thing I can think of is that because both discs were coupled in June of 1919, someone made a boo-boo in the pressing dept and this wasn't caught by Q.C.

That's pretty cool, Tim. Does it show any evidence as being a 'Discard"?? Trying to date off the cuff...does it have any catalog numbers stamped within the edge? Curious to figure out what the presser was scheduled to press/mate, and the edge numbers could determine that. Post pics if you can!!

It just so happens that I have a DD with the same label on both sides, but the matrix#s are different & correct to their catalog matching (can't recall the DD cat # atm-in storage). Has anyone ever encountered this?
