Ok, thanks! No damage to the feed screw as far as I can tell. I probably won't ream these cylinders seeing that they mostly are fairly unique brown wax recordings. Better to just let them be!

Sometimes the cylinder isn't going far enough on the mandrel to be able to finish the record. That's an age problem. Occasionally, the carriage can be adjusted for this. De[ends on the reproducer, and, carriage. Bill Cahill Well, obviously if I could put these cylinders further in on the mandrel it would solve my problem. However, they do have pretty much the same fit as my other wax cylinders, the right-hand side of the mandrel pretty much in line with the edge of the cylinder itself. The difference is that the mentioned cylinders have recorded groove that ends about 2 milimeters from the cylinders right-hand edge, whereas a typical Edison Records-cylinder seems to have about a 10 milimeter gap. I use a Edison Standard model B with combination gearing and a reproduction model B reproducer, I don't see how carriage or reproducer could be adjusted to fix this issue.

Hello! I use a Edison Standard Model B, mainly for digitizing cylinder records via the Canaphonic Archivette, which I guess some of you are familiar with. The reults are over all very good! I've run across a problem with a few cylinder though, most of them are brown wax (home recordings or small commercial productions) but one is a black 2 minute wax cylinder from british Clarion Records. These cylinders have the groove extending very far right on the cylinder which means that the feed screw ends before the recording does, which makes the reproducer stick in repeat before the song is over. Does this have to do with different standards on early machines? All Edison Records cylinders I have play perfectly, as you would imagine. Is there a work-around for this problem, so that I could make a digital recording of the whole cylinder? I have a reamer but I'm guessing that reaming a wax cylinder is not a very good idea. Also, the cylinders fit the mandrel nicely, with the end of the cylinder in line with the end of the mandrel. I'm thankful for any reply! My best, Oscar

Hello!
I'm looking for someone who could rotate the stylus on my model H reproducer, or if it turns out to have been rotated before, put in a new one. The side that's showing now is a little flattened and I have at least one cylinder which is very echoey.
Preferrably in Europe for lower postage, and also someone who accepts PayPal. I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
Thanks!
