I just found out that Greg Cline is still in business but he is having trouble with his web site. I'm good to go now.
Thanks Jim

Yep, that is the gear. I found an original replacement but it sounds like I need the newer version. I'll check with APSCO to see if they have the wider version. Thanks for the help. Jim

Does anyone know if template decal sets are still available? At one time Greg Cline made custom decals but I can't find an active link to his site. I've checked various phonograph parts vendors but no one seems to carry the bedplate stripping kit.
Thanks
Jim

I just picked up an Edison Home Phonograph Model D for a little bit of nothing but it has a broken gear. Does anyone know if there is an assembly diagram for these machines? The parts diagram I can find but I need a diagram to identify the correct gear. One more question: The horn is an eleven panel 33" straight horn. The patent decal is gold colored but the horn decal looks white with blue trim and lettering. Is the horn decal washed out or was it always white?
Thanks Jim

Does anyone know what can be used to replace the oil wicks on the oiler tubes? This is for an Edison S19 Sheraton motor assembly.
Thanks Jim

Thanks. I knew about George but I was hoping for an alternative. I probably could have used piano wire but I didn't have a pin gauge small enough to check the size.
Thanks for the help Jim

I have an Edison s19 that I am restoring. I just tore into the reproducer and found that someone replaced the stylus pivot pin with a piece of wire. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement ?
Thanks Jim

Has anyone used hide glue to put down new felt on a turntable platter. This is for an Edison S19 Sheraton.
Thanks

I had this same problem and rather than resoldering, I used a two part epoxy called J-B Weld for steel. So far, no problems.

Found my answer. The spring is held in place by friction. I was able to unwind it enough so that it would insert in the arm of the pawl. All is well.
Thanks

I am also a newbie when it comes to the S19 and I have a similar problem. The shaft spring is disconnected because the tip is broken off. However my real question is: Are these springs held in place by friction? I see no mechanism to hold it in place once it is hooked into the locking tooth.
Thanks Jim

I ended up reassembling the wheels without any packing and they seem to work fine. I had to replace the rivets but that was the easy part. Thanks for all the help.

I have an Edison S19 and I am in the midst of restoring it. The problem that I have run into is with the wheels/wheel brackets. It looks like the portion of the wheels that are steel were gold plated but most of that is gone and there is a lot of rust. I can deal with the rust but what should I do about the gold plating or better yet...what do most people do in this situation? Should I restore the gold finish(re-plate it) or use gold paint? I know the wheel brackets were gold but I am not sure about the actual wheels (brand name - Faultless Feet). These seem to be wood sandwiched between two metal disks but I don't know it the disks were also gold plated.
I would appreciate any help that someone could give me.
Thanks, Jim R
