My phonograph will play fine if it is opened, thus decreasing weight on the reproducer. When it is closed, it will slow down only when the reproducer is in the play position, even if a cylinder is absent. The limiting factor is when the rear part of the reproducer, as threaded, comes in contact with the threading on the back, which would cause the reporoducer to advance and play the cylinder. Any ideas how to adjust this so it can play through a whole cylinder without slowing down? Thank you.

I just purchased one and the serial number is S67825 and the last patent date is from May 31 but I can't quite read the year. Any ideas as to when this may have been made? Also, are there any serial number/date of manufacture tables out there?
