I thought this topic might be both informative AND fun.
Personally, I collect only Victor accoustic records with a BIG preference for the single sided, pre-1908 recordings. This of course really limits my familiarity with later material so please judge me gently. That being said...
My Favorites: Cal Stewart (Uncle Josh), Billy Murray, Collins & Harlan, Vess Ossman and pretty much all vaudeville & comedy. I also really like "spoken" records, Coon Songs and wierd stuff like bells & barnyard sounds.
My Dislikes: *Alma Gluck, Fox Trots, Hawaiian Ukeleles and most all Victor Red Labels simply because 2 to 4 minute, crackling shellac renditions are not the way I want to listen to my classics.
* I didn't know how much I disliked Alma Gluck until I made a super cheap, blind purchase of 10 Alma Gluck Red Labels records.
