Although most collectors do not like me, there is still the fact that I have do have experience making blanks and recordings. I have put a series of videos up on youtube of experiments making blank cylinders, recording experiments, recording and observations. I now make spiral core brown wax blanks, black four minute recording blanks, and brown, and black dictation machine blanks. In the future I plan on manufacturing authentic spiral core concert blanks. youtu.be/AOVJojbkceo

Shawn Borri, right? Don't worry about not being universally liked; that's the case with all of us to some extent. ; )
It's good being able to share our skills and knowledge. We're all in this hobby for a variety of reasons, and not just for collecting original phonographs and recordings. There are many who like not only to rebuild but also recreate and innovate, using the old technology as a point of departure. Good for you, producing wax blanks. Everyone can decide for themselves what they want to buy; we're all adults here.

My latest improvement is I went from a single helix spiral core, to a double, just like an original Edison brown wax record, and if you have a class M they come with channeled rims if desired. Examine an original blank and see that where the spiral ends on both ends, you will note two spirals, one inside the other, that terminate on the opposite sides of each other. What I am going to catch flack about is that my new blanks are so identical, to an original brown wax blank that it is difficult to tell them apart, except mine are a little longer than the originals, to facilitate more time. I now make business machine blanks too, which have advantages over original ones. My business machine blanks are of a stable compound using triple pressed, but authentic formula octadecanoic acid, they do not contain stearine pitch, and uses ceresine in place of paraffin found in Ediphone this translates into a quiet blank, that is stable and does not fog or decompose easily.
