While looking on YouTube, I stumbled across yet another video extolling the virtues of cleaning records (this time a 78) with wood glue. So I wondered, has anyone ever tried this on a cylinder of any kind? Haven't tried this method on any type record and am very hesitant to do so. Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Keith

I would hesitate to clean any wax cylinder with anything containing a solvent of any sort; water should suffice and nothing else is worth the risk. As for discs and plastic cylinders, I am quite satisfied with the little towelettes that you can find in any drug store--the ones designed as "baby wipes" or for makeup removal. If designed for those purposes, they are strong enough to cut through residue, but gentle enough for sensitive skin. I've been using those for years now with my discs and plastic cylinders and have found them safe and useful.

P.S. Never have heard of the use of wood glue.
