(J.M.J.) Upon reading your discussions about glues to be used for "trim" on the thread about the weight of the Edison C-19/C-250. I was told by an advanced phono collector to try and find some powdered form "hide glue" from the period when the phonos were manufactured. He has not been able to be lucky enough in his hunt in antique shops, etc.. He told me if I could find some he may be able to come to my home and do the job I need done. Anybody got some?

You can get it in the Woodworking Shop that is owned by the Klingsor people. They sell sandpaper and they may well be the same ones who made the Klingsor phonograph with the tuning strings on it.

(J.M.J.) Thank you for this information. Now to get some, and try to get him to come to my home, in his town, than give the remaining hide glue to him for his efforts. I am still somewhat puzzeled of why an old-time collector of more than 20 years of fixing his own cabinets on his more than 30 phonos and music boxes does not get his hide glue from these sources and was dismayed somewhat by his trying to find the original stuff from the time of manufacturing.
