Gents, My copy of Too Tired arrived Saturday. (It's now 3:31 Anti-Meridian and I'm playin' it! If The tenants don't like it --- Too Bad! ... WEEE! Both side are very good numbers. I like! ;D What's the "good" take of Too Tired? And how do I tell which one I have? In the dead wax I've got "9849C-1-6" Sadly, IMO this copy isn't worth what I payed. It's condition is what I would guess is on the lower end of the "DD safely playable spectrum" (My own patented system, all others are inferior... Sorry the whole National Phonograph Co. thing must be getting to me. ;D ) But it is playable and I like it-so it will do for now. As a side note I got 80508 (etched label) a while ago Macushla one of my favorites. Lindquist does a very good job of it but although a very clean copy it sounds very poor. I'm developing a dislike of etched label DDs! Regards, J.

John, I'm glad you like the record but I'm sorry to hear hat your copy isn't in pristine condition! Unfortunately, it's not always easy getting DDs in E+ condition.
The "good" take to which you are referring is Take A, which Dan (and some months earlier, Phil O.) posted on the OTVMMB. That's simply Dan's opinion, which you may or may not share. My personal copy is Take B, and I have no complaints about it. Take C, which you have, is also available at Edison's Attic site (they do not own a copy of Take A).
I also recommend Jan Garber's Victor rendition and Bob Haring's Cameo rendition of the song.

Gents,
How many takes are there? Three? Favorite? Anyone? ;D

I looked at my copy, and it is take A. If you can't find it on the board, I'll post it tomorrow.

Bill,
Thanks, I downloaded Dan's and Phil's last night. I have to compare them to mine later.
