Hi all, I'm new to these forums and to antique Edison phonographs in general. I have what I believe to be an Edison Amberola of some variety and was hoping someone here could help me positively identify it. Based on photos I've looked at online, it looks an awful lot like an Amberola 30 or an Amberola 50, but a total absence of serial number, patent plates, or distinctive markings of any kind make this hard to identify. I'm not sure if the absence of marking is because it was refinished at some point or because this particular model never had any to begin with, but it is accompanied by several cylinders, all of which carry the Edison name. Anyway, if someone could help me identify this, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks for any help. Best, Matt

Except for the grille, it looks like a 50. It is curious that there is no decal inside the lid: perhaps the case may have been refinished.
Is the motor single or double spring? Have you checked behind the grille to see if there is a plate inside the cabinet? (early 30 and 50 models had the patent plate on the right side of the horn inside the cabinet).

Looks like a refinished Mahoganny Amberola 50 to me. It's missing the Edison signature decal on the back inside board of the lid, and, the serial tag. Bill nCahill
