Hello Alice, According to original sales data from the National Phonograph Company, Edison Standard No.63764 left the factory about September 1902. There's an outstanding article on all the variations of the Edison Standard Phonograph at the web site of the Antique Phonograph Society: www.antiquephono.org/Just click on the "Articles" tab and the Introductory-level articles will come up. Or you can access the article directly here: www.antiquephono.org/spotters-guide-edison-standard-phonograph/Hope this helps. George P.

Hi Alice. Congratulations on your new Edison Standard. I saw it earlier this year. Your machine has the UK-only "patent-free" modifications (end gate clamp & button lift) that Edison's National Phonograph Company was forced to use when in litigation with Edison-Bell (the previous UK based importer of Edison products). Your machine is an illustration of that brief period of time (1902-03, I think) and therefore very cool indeed!. Enjoy! Regards, Martin
