We moved recently, and now find that our Edison diamond disc phonograph is inoperable. Apparently the horn became detached from the two metal tabs that secured it from behind. How can we fix this, or get it repaired?

I had this same problem and rather than resoldering, I used a two part epoxy called J-B Weld for steel. So far, no problems.

By now no doubt you had fixed the problem? My Chippendale Console was broken loose from the pivot rod and had a bit of tension to overcome to return it to its proper location. Like above I used a Epoxy product, somehow the name I can't recall but it was said to hold tons of material. I got it at a farm supply store but most likely online or hardware stores would have something close. I cleaned it and applied the mixed tubes as suggested on the box, then I had it clamped tight for 24 hours as also suggested. That was more than likely 8 years or more by now and so far has never come loose.
