Hi to all, so happy to find a place to ask questions.
I purchased an Edison Amberola 30 in 1978 and need to find a new home for it now. I've oiled it in the correct spots after much research and tested the cylinders I have on hand, all parts seem to be operating fine. Ebay is the only place I've looked for similar sales but I'm a bit concerned about shipping the phonograph I've cared for almost 40 years. Any suggestions concerning selling and shipping would be appreciated.

You could see if a local antique store would sell it on commission.

I've shipped a couple Phonographs through Kinko's which uses FedEX. They go out of their way to over pack the article. A++++ Shipping will probably be $110-$120 though including insurance in the Continental United States but well worth the extra money. Also, You did'nt say where you were located... and How about some pics of the machine... We'd all love to see it! It might even help sell it! ) Tony K. Edison Collector/Restorer
