Hi Folks, I have inherited a family heirloom. An Edison Amberola 30. I remember my dad playing it when I was a child. So much fun. Anyway, in studying up on it, it appears that in the intervening years the reproducer has disappeared. (I can only guess that my father sent it away to be repaired and it got lost somehow). I have added a picture of it. Any ideas on how I can get this up and working? I have searched for a reproducer online and am having trouble coming up with one that is available and in figuring out how I would get the right one. Thanks, "Stan in Maine"

Your best bet is to search for a "Diamond C reproducer".
I would suggest posting a want ad on the Talking Machine Forum, in the "Yankee Trader" section: there should be someone who can steer you in the right direction.
BTW: does your 30 have an external speed control? These earlier versions usually had a nickeled reproducer; the later ones used a black anodized finish.

Thanks so much Bill. I will try your approach. There appears to be only and on/off switch which can be seen in the photo. I remember the reproducer (which has disappeared) as having a black finish. -StanMaine

From what I can see.... It looks like he has an Amberola 30 (Early 2nd Series)..... If it has the External Speed Control, It would be a (Late 1st Series) according to everything I can see.... But I don't think that it has one. We'll see what he says... A shot(pic)of the Bedplate from the other side Left side angle would put it to rest...so see if you can post a pic of the other (Left) hand side of the machine..and maybe a pic of the Dataplate at the rear of the Bedplate also. I'm betting that its a Amberola 30 (Early 2nd Series) though.... just from what I can see... You say that you remember the Reproducer being Black... Did you or a family member mis-place it??? You can buy a "Diamond C" Reproducer for your Amberola 30 on Ebay. There's always a few up there. Usually prices range from $125-$200 Usually based on condition... ) Tony K. Edison Collector/Restorer
