My dad passed away and one of the phonographs he left behind is an Edison Model E. I can’t find any information on this particular model. Does it even exist?

Yes, it did. :-) Some photos would be nice.
Did it come with a Cygnet horn? Those were becoming standard equipment around that time.

I’m a rookie at this site. Trying to figure out how to post pics. I’ve seen info on the standard phonograph model E, but nothing on the home version. Is this a pretty common phonograph? I really appreciate any help. I had someone offer $100 for it. It does have the cogent horn with it.

Well, the market for many talking machines (except for the high-end models) is a bit soft these days; but you could probably get $100 for the horn alone - not that I would suggest parting it out.
In good playing condition, a Home E with Cygnet horn is worth at least $500; if it's a wooden Music Master horn, that would add maybe $100- $200 more. (I am strictly spitballing; but experienced collectors could give you a better estimate).

The cygnet horn is quite desirable. $100 won't touch it unless it is in really ratty condition. If it is in decent shape, you are looking at $300 at least (I know - I've been trying to find one!)

It seems to be in good shape. I wish I could figure out how to post pics. The motor runs, but it was missing a belt, which I just ordered a replacement for. I ended up with 4 old phonographs and over 600 records. Trying to figure them all out.

As posted elsewhere, there is some bad news.
The case is incorrect for a model E (probably from a model B): besides, it has been refinished, and fitted with a reproduction decal that is both poorly done and totally incorrect for this model.
The model E would have had a case with a different base molding; and it would have been stained darker, with a simple "Edison" script decal. These defects will significantly affect its resale value.
