Can anyone give any tips regarding applying shellac to a Edison bedplate. I trid it and it came out decent - just wondering how to get rid of or at least minimize the brush strokes when the shellac sets up before you make make another pass with the brush. I'm using 3# amber shellac...would thinning it help?
thanks

Thinning would certainly help. You might want to polish the finish afterwards with something like rubbing compound, to get everything smoothed out.
