Here's a comic song I found recently. I thought it might have been a cover song used in the 1953 film musical "Calamity Jane" but it's completely different. Very clever, though. Here's a quote from the 1923 August Amberol Record leaflet: "Despite the title, we are not going to keep "under our hat" the fact that here is a fox trot that will make the rugs automatically slide back off the floor just to let you dance. It's a humdinger, or we know nothing about records." Keep It Under Your Hat (Cantor-Tobias-Breau) Robert Denning and Chorus BA 4754 www.box.net/shared/4fzo2zbwwsRecorded off an Amberola III Enjoy! Great tune, Bob! The voice sounded familiar and apparently "Robert Denning" is actually M.J. O'Connell who recorded 8 BAs for Edison. I have #3086 How Could Washington be A Married Man, etc. and as soon as I can put my hands on it, I'll record it here. Bill Edit* Here it is, sorry about the hung groove but oh well............... www.box.net/shared/2ni5v38o4c

Wow! I finally got to hear the words to "Keep in Under Your Hat." The Atlantic Dance Orchestra's rendition on DD 51056 was the only version I've heard prior to this.
At first I thought that Billy Murray had also recorded "How could Washington.....", but I confused the song title with "If Washington should come to life," which Murray recorded on a 2-minute cylinder. I know I've heard the song before, but I don't recall whose rendition.

His diction is just as good too. I noticed playing your boxnet file that after the posted tune is played, the player continues with other tunes apparently in your file folder. Is this intentional, and if so, what are the settings you use on your account? My single posts just repeat the single tune. Bob
