About the rebuild slash tuneup slash repair of the motor......
this beast is HEAVY. I mean H-E-A-V-Y with a capital BIG. How heavy is it? gosh, i don't have a scale around here..... lemme pick it up and try a guesstimate.....
oh sheesh...... i dunno.... ten? twenty pounds? Not to be a sexist here, but for some reason (and i think its because I'm a she) i have a bit of difficulty in guessing things like distances and weights. I think it is easier for men to guess these things.... maybe because they have dealt with these types of measurements as a standard part of growing up. I mean football fields and weight lifting maybe maybe I dunno wrestling or never-mind, I'll stop now. I have no excuse. I just don't know
But, I will tell you that it is heavy. I am a little worried to hear what the price may be to ship such a beast across county. I live in the Pacific Northwestern United States in a little town named Coeur d' Alene. Coeur d' Alene is roughly 100 miles south of the Canadian boarder in the Rocky Mountains of the North Idaho Panhandle. The closest metropolitan area is not too far away. The city of Spokane, just over the Idaho Washington boarder, is only about a 30 mile drive. Do we know anyone in Spokane? Also, do we have a rough guess on what kind of monies should be appropriated for this service?

Angela, Check with the P.O. I think you'll find it's cheaper than you might think. If you're really worried about shipping it across the country, you might want to check with M.A.P.S. or C.A.P.S. www.michiganantiquephonographsociety.org/www.ca-phono.org/I'm sure you could find someone through The California Antique Phonograph Society who's on the Left Coast. I can personally recommend Matt Brown. He's very professional and backs up his work. Regards, J.

I agree about the JB Weld; it is strong. I repaired a cylinder head crack in a Chevrolet once and it held even when the engine later overheated. Great stuff!!!
