Gents,
On another forum a fellow asked about an Edison Standard he just bought. I have a question about some of the information he got. Can a Model H reproducer play both 4M wax and BA's safely? Inquiring minds and all that. ;D
Regards, J.

Yes, a model H can play 4M wax and BA cylinders without any problems.

John,
As Matt said, you can play BAs with an H. The only down side is the wear on the sapphire stylus from the celluloid, which over a period of time will flatten the stulus and evoke an echo. It's a gamble when you buy a used H, as you don't know if it's already worn and time for a "rotation."

Gents,
Thanks. I was curious because as we know the Amberola's had diamond styli and the earlier reproducers has sapphire. So the risk would be to the stylus not the cylinder. That clears it up for me. ;D
