Oh Com'on Bill. I owe you coffee anyways. I'm coming from Canada. 4 hrs to Toronto and then another 8 to Union. The gas is never going down ever again and we just can't stop going places because of it. By the way have you seen my winter project lately. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyLrR5O-8zoThere are some background noises like birds, dog barks and wind but that's outdoor recording. Kevan

Luke
I am considering going. Sounds like at 5 hours I am closer than some. I too am not rolling in dough and spending the night and two days gas does add up.. but I would like to meet a few of the people I have met here. What highway do you take up to union Luke?
You may be going a few miles from my place if your taking 57?
Larry

Hey Luke,
Can you provide a summary of the show? How were sales? Any exciting machines? I heard there was a Triumph under glass (cabinet). Any idea what was being asked and whether it sold?
Thanks, Scott

Hi Luke, Just wanted to thank you again for helping me find that cactus needle sharpener!! I must have passed by it at least a dozen times but didn't see it since it was in it's original box.

Thanks, Scott Well, I was there all day, but didn't really make a study of it, however, . . . . I'll try to mention some things I remember. I was going to bring my camera in with me, but at the last minute decided it was a bother and didn't . . . sorry. No tinfoils this year. No Stollwercks or Bell-Tainters, although there was a very early B-T era treadle shaver for $11.5K Oliphants had a nice Class M. I studied it, but didn't price it (why bother?? lol). They also had two mahogany Operas at $8K each. One sold on Friday. They also had a neat tapered sides oak record cabinet that was almost shoulder height on me. The top was just big enough to hold a small front mount Zonophone or Berliner A. Priced at $5K There were two or three Victrola XVIIIs. A super clean Greek key-style VTLA with record boxes at $1800. A Columbia BD with wooden horn was priced at $3K. there was three or four TLP Credenzas . . . I remember one was $1900. Bill Endlein was unloading toward the end of the day and he hauled in a most amazing machine. It was, I believe, an A Home mechanism mounted in an oak cylinder storage cabinet that was taller in the back than in the front. The mech was mounted in the top board of the lower front of the cabinet. The sides of the back cabinet was all drawers, and the front of the lower cabinet was all drawers. On the side of the cabinet was a large brass plate with round ends that proclaimed "PHONOGRAPH". It was magnificent. Huge. Collectors and dealers were swarming Bill's truck and booth as he was unloading.

Nice Gem D you picked up, Kevan! The horn looks nice with a lot of the original red tinted shellac still showing. Thanks for all the great pix you supplied. Almost like being there!!! (yeah, right) I see J.P. Agnard was displaying his Phonautographe. He' selling repros for $7,500.00 if anyone is interested.

Did anyone look at the price on that phono lamp that is in the picture? I saw one locally yesterday that looked really nice, although it had had the fabric replaced but still a good job, it was a lot of money but I have no idea what they are worth.. I wrote the name down but don't have it in front of me at the moment.
