Hope this doesn't come off as insulting, I like checking in on this site as well as TOTVMMB and very much enjoy the information that phono collectors have to share. I'm wondering though, are there any high traffic boards out there that are oriented more to discussion of records/cylinders & recorded music from the 1880's to 1950 or so, without as much emphasis on machines? There's the Old Opera Pro Boards, which is great, but hardly anyone goes there. And Dismukes board which is also very slow, any others? Thanks.

There is the uk78rpmforum, but it too is very slow. I think there's only about 34 members so far. It's got some intersting information, links & MP3 uploads though, so it's worth a look if nothing else. I've posted links & annotations in some of my youtube video's in hopes of pulling in a few more members, but it hasn't had much impact so far. Hopefully things will pick up there though, as I think it's got the makings to be a really good forum. uk78rpmforum.freeforums.org/index.php Shane.

I've been a member of 78-L for ten years now. It's a great source of information, some very good record people over there. Most everyone is nice and helpful. Things sometimes get a little out of control topic-wise, but the general atmosphere is very friendly and, at times, very funny and a lot of fun. I recommend it to everyone interested in 78 RPM records.

Wolfe, I was just thinking you might try Phonoland, it's not bustling but they do have a 78rpm & Cylinder section. Also check out The Record Collectors' Guild, I'm not sure they have much going on in the 78 dept., last time I checked in they didn't, but it only takes a second to look. ;D Regards, J.
