Can some one here please tell me just what the heck this is to justify $1.650.00? I've been doing this a loooooong time and I've never run across such an amalgam of parts. How do you even listen to it? What's the deal with the pillar & plate motor? Bill---- You could live two lifetimes and not figure this one out,in my opinion. But while you and I are in the business of machining handcrafted precision parts-----and I would not hire him/her for their engineering skills ----I give him/her an A+ for helping to REMOVE AND RECLAIM crap from our landfills and turn it into a "phongraph" and receive to amount oif money it sold for! Hell, Bill, with our collective engineering skills we could take, for example, a common Edison Standard ----add a few old refrigerator parts, a handle from a shopping cart at my local grocery store, and just for the total WOW!!! factor a blinking light ( the type one would see on a Christmas tree, just to get one's attention) and we could be rich selling on Ebay. Someone would buy it, trust me. We could advertise it as the RARE Edison Christmas model that also keeps your beer cold and has a handle so one can push it from room to room. Michael Bill--if the pet rock was a million dollar seller, how the hell can we go wrong with this idea? cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290337269234&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp284.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D290337269234%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

Ah, so that explains the rather high bids. I wonder what this machine looked like with the horn/recording device attached and who made this machine. I would hope that the buyer already has the needed parts to complete this rare bird!
