I saw this item behind the storage slates in the S-19, and after removing all the slates for cleaning, I was able to remove it. Photos of it are below. Note I could not scan the item directly due to it's size, so these are composite images.

Neat little find! It's amazing what you can find stuffed behind those post 1919 record dividers. That stroboscope was definitely for the European market because of the 50 Hz.

I may throw it up on ebay and see if anyone bites. This almost seems like something you get when you first purchase a machine...definitely old!

you may want to offerit to the memebers here first or asking what it may do on EPay also look at the over seas market on ePay Just MY $.02 worth

Nice find! I guess the original Edison owner must have bought themselves a Thorens portable once diamond discs became obsolete. Thorens probably included this stroboscope with all their "Thorens branded" machines. It would be neat to find the same model pictured. I had a bit of a look on the web, but the one below is the closest I could find. If you do ebay it, I'd definately list it worldwide. There's probably lots of Thorens portables in Europe, so you'd be more likely to see a bidding war happen from there.
