I was able to turn this: Into this: I did this with relative ease and without Billy Mays. I used naptha and some blotting material. In short, I sprinkled naptha starting at the center and working to the edges on the entire surface. I then proceeded to blot from the inside working my way out the edges to soak up as much naptha as possible, going through several papertowels in the process. Afterwards, I then wiped the felt surface down with a terry cloth and used a vacuum and lint brush to remove any loose material. I think the end result is a marked improvement in appearance of the original felt.

Looks good! The naptha does a good job getting the oils out. I've also had success with spray upholstery cleaner for the lighter stains.

great job! i also have an S-19, i put red felt on the turntable and also for the grill cloth and i also used RESTORE A FINISH (mahogany) and some a lint free cloth and gave it an all over coating. it turned out great, im not going to restore the cabinet as it has nicks and dings in it that are part of its history, i think it looks pretty swell that way. you can visit my youtube account AGESAGOMUSIC08 and see my player and some of my collection that i post as time permits me to do so.. thanks and again great job !! i also have a similar s 19 with the cabinet base has been cut off, its a darker mahogany, as soon as i get the monies I know a freind of mine who has a B 19 chalet in great condition, i want to get that as my next project.
