There are a series of machines known as the Official Laboratory Models which featured the large horn. There are a number of sizes depending on the price and size of the machines that he sold, the sound is progressively louder and richer as the horns get larger. But a mid size horn such as the 150 is sufficient in smaller rooms. The machine you have has what was refereed to as the 250 size horn. If your interested the is a book by George Frow that shows all the models. Many can be seen from time to time on ebay and most likely by googling Edison Disc Phonographs on the net. Off hand the 250 was in models know as the Chippendale which you have, The William and Mary, Louis XV, Sheraton, Jacobean, Modern Renaissance, Adam Console, Italian Console, and several others.

Hi Bob. You can get the Frow Diamond Disc book through The Antique Phonograph Supply Co. www.antiquephono.com/They have it listed at $25. They also have another book that I highly recommend: "The Compleat Talking Machine" by Eric Reiss. It's very informative in the art of repair and conservation of phonographs. Best Wishes, Martin
