Hello all. My grandfather recently passed away and I got his Edison BC-34 phonograph. We are really enjoying it but are wondering how do you change the needle. We surely don't have to replace the entire arm do we? It seems the needle isn't just straight. There doesn't seem to be much information about these on the internet. We'd love to get an instruction manual if anyone knows how we could do that. I appreciate any information you can give us. Thanks!

no reason to replace needle. they are made for life of your phonograph. unless your not hearing any sound or string or cord is broken. if hearing it sound or music, then it be find.
enjoy your edison.

Hate to differ here, but I disagree! Take off your reproducer and carefully examine it under a jeweler's loupe. A good sapphire needle should come to a point. If its flat, DO NOT USE it on your records. You will destroy them! Examine the needle carefully before use. Please!
