Welcome to the board! With the end-gate, this would be an Edison Home Model A or B, 2 minute machine.

Yep, that's pretty much an early-ish Edison Home model A in the New Style case (longbox). I'd guess it was one of the early ones with the Black lettered Banner (as opposed to the Red lettered banner). Note that it has the serial number also in the straight edge. Neat find! - Martin

Edison Home model A in the New Style case (longbox). I agree. Nevermind the Pat'd date, It was made around 1900-1901. The unit most likely came with the Black lettered banner, but Red was possible... just rarer... I'm trying to remember the latest serial number Red Banner Serial number that I have seen.. I'd have to check my hundreds of digital pics.. Tony K.
