Beautiful EDISON Standard model 1905. It is as it has been for about 25 years. Looks all original an complete, including its carry case and lid, and original witches' hat brass horn with black lacquered body. It cranks and works well, but should be tuned, oiled and cleaned up to be to notch. Original EDISON decal still in front of case. I have only one EDISON cylinder that comes with it in its carboard tube. It works but skips in the middle. You could buy an unknown, non-functional one from a flea-market scrounger off Ebay for $400-500, missing parts and lid, or a cherry one from an overpriced antique store for over $1000. We have it fairly priced at $799. I can shipp. I also accept PAYPAL. Feel free to EM or call with questions (650) 430-4660 PST Louis or Olya Attachments:

$475? Sure thing; since I am not a flea market scrounger, I am very happy for you.

Obviously, you knew that it was worth a lot more than $50. So, who took advantage of whom...? How neighborly of you.

I brought it 29 years ago, I ask a friend of mine, who knew more about these old cylinder, he told me it wasn't worth anymore then $50. I ask why he thought this? He told me, because it needed a lot works done to it. He told me not pay no more then $50. Back in those days you be lucky, if you could find anyone who knew how to repair them. He told me to go to the Flea Market, and find someone there who do this type of work. I found old gentleman, who been work on them for 51 years, he was already was in his late 70's. That all he done he told me, just fix them and repair, old Phonograph, and colllect them, He said no one around here know how to. But he die off 15 years ago or longer, I lost track of him over the years. If it wasn't for him, this would still be sitting in moths balls. Then 20 years later I sold for what you are asking for. I wish I, didn't sell it, but would be still sitting in dust from house. So had to get rid of it. That way it was. I knew nothing, but what I know now. Sorry you think I took advantage, of that person but, he was desperate was looking for money. Would you had pay more if knew part were missing?

Well NO, not 30 years ago! The way you were mentioning it, I thought you had bought one recently for $50, which was why I was like "....yeah, right". Yes, I suppose 30 years ago it was worth $50, but just like old Luger pistols; 30 years ago you could buy one for $100. Now, they are worth over $2000. And people pay it, just like gramophones.
Upon your message, I actually went and looked around online at various "expert" websites. Geeez! You will be hard-pressed to find a clean original Standard for less than $1000, and a Home model for less than $1800 ( actually, $1895 + 100 shipping was the cheapest one I found).
Long story short, my $799 asking price is VERY reasonable. For $500, all there is out there are "unkowns", non-operational and messed-with Standards. Or you could take a gamble and buy one untested on Ebay for that, PLUS shipping. Mine is original and works, and has its original witches hat horn and a Type C reproducer, also original. Thus, $799 is a VERY fair price.

Yeper, 30 years ago, was much differ then today. But never know what people will pay sometime if get luck, other time don't, depend of how market and ecomony is moving also recession were in now. I saw differ price on eBay for same type Edison Phonegraph. Then go to differ website may see it differ there also. Also at Antique store, Auction, some time garage and yards Sale. I think it only worth what one want to pay for it. But I didn't buy mine for that reason. I brought it because someone didn't want it becasue taking up room space in house. So now I enjoy it,. Here the sad part, you enjoy it, but you have no in family to hand these thing down to, in family. Sometime end up out on steet curb. This happen to my Father, but we didn't want his junk or treasure, but someone else did where he live. Well I wish luck selling it.

Why all the back and forth nastiness? If it's priced too high, it will not sell. It seems simple to me.
