This is probably a Model E Standard. If you look at the gear train on the close-up shot, you'll notice that the gear on the end of the push-pull slider is much thinner than a model D. Four minute only on this machine.

I ended up buying a differenet Edison cylinder player c.1898 or so at the Sounds of Nostalgia show. It is serial # S16144. Can't seem to get photos to attach to this message, but you can view pictures at: cdbpdx.com/1898Edison/This cost over $100 less than the one I didn't buy. Works as good as it looks. It has an upgraded carriage and reproducer, but still a fine machine. I'm very happy! Also brought home a beautiful Amberola 30. CDB Attachments:

You're much better off than you would have been with the B that had been "restored." And the $100 savings is icing on the cake. I'd have paid the $100 extra for the Standard A! It has the correct crank too...

CDB - That's a particularly interesting machine. I would have bought it at the last CAPS show if I wasn't so broke. It's a keeper for sure! - Martin
