Hello everyone,
I just got sucked into the world of cylinder phonographs and I've already got me two of them. One's an Amberola 50 and I think the other is a standard model b. I have a question about the amberola; mine has red felt on the front grill, could this be the original felt cover and if not who knows what colors/styles they shipped with?
Thank you,
Cole

Hey Cole and welcome,
It's doubtful that your red felt is original. Frow's book mentions "silk covered grilles" on early Amberola models. Some Model 50s were reported to have cloth louvres in the grill. There is no mention of specific colors.
Hope this is helpful.
