Great song! I play that one often. Now... a couple questions. 1. Is that a dealers plaque behind the horn, or the Edison ID tag? When I bought my A100, the ID tag was behind the horn. It also had screw holes in the normal place - inside left, but looked as thought it hadn't been there for years-if ever. I removed it and put it where it should be, but then noticed that the veneer had been sanded too far, leaving a small pale strip, and this was all under the original finish. Could this have been done at the factory to cover up the defect?
2. What's the decal at the front left corner of the bedplate?

Shane,
Don't know about the plate, but the decal on the bedplate is operating instructions in the diamond shape IIRC. I have a pic some place. I'll look tonight after work.

That is an A-250 also called the Modern Renaissance. The plate at the rear is the Edison ID plate. They were moved to the left in side corner at a later date. The cabinets for these were the same as the Amberola 1-As & Bs. The bedplates on these were brown and not black like the later ones and had gilt embellishments on the bedplate as well as that diamomd you mention.

Shane,
I couldn't find a photo. Bill am I remembering that correctly? The operating instructions are in the small diamond?
Regards, J.

John, I had a look, and found a pic I have of an A100 with this decal. Any idea if anyone sells repro decals like these?

Shane,
You might try Greg Cline, zonophone@woh.rr.com He makes all sorts of odd decals and they are really nice.
