Would anybody have info dating an Edison B250? I just got a nice one serial number SM 4052. 4052 seems to be a low number, but I really don't have an idea of how many were actually produced. This has the later 'universal' style motor and is missing the grill. Nice mahogany cabinet and smooth running motor. The reproducer is loud and clear. Very happy with this addition to my phono family. Cost $150. Thanks! CDB

According to Frow, production of the B-250 started very shortly after the factory fire; production in early 1915 was estimated at about 100 per day; by March, they had sold 12,549 units.
So it would seem your example would date to perhaps January or February of 1915.

It was original sold at Marshall Field & Company if I am to believe a sticker on the reproducer. Currently it is with me here in Victoria. Cheers, Don
