For playing cylinders, I use an Edison Standard, Model D, this machine has no issues playing Edison black wax 2 minute, Amberol or Blue Amberol cylinders. Will it play a Columbia 2 minute cylinder? Only about halfway through and then the machine behaves as if the spring wants winding, which it does not. There are only three Columbia 2 minute cylinders in my collection and this machine refuses to play any of them all the way through. Anyone else have this issue or is my machine haunted??? Any suggestions on how to rectify this issue would be appreciated. Thanks, Keith

Hello Keith,
I have a few 2 minute Columbia black wax records, but i don't play them on my Edison, because i always thought that Columbia black wax wears much faster with an edison reproducer, and that they were made of a different, much less wear resistent material.
Maybe these Columbia records are worn, and thats why they slow down? I don't know for sure, but i have wondered about that before.

Hi Timo, Two of the cylinders are 2 minute black wax, the remaining is a 2 minute indestructible. All sound loud, crisp and clear; so it's highly unlikely wear is the issue. Thanks for the thoughts, really appreciate it. Even though the machine plays Edison cylinders well, I can't help but think it has to be an adjustment/lubrication issue. Keith

Hello Keith,
That's very strange then. I don't have any clue either.
