John, I love your Youtube video of the etched label diamond disc of "I'm forever blowing bubbles." How cool that you are actually blowing bubbles while the record is playing! youtube.com/watch?v=Eu-4hUfv-dsThis has got to be one of my favorites! Rocky

Rocky, Thank you so much. it was fun! Regards, J. John, I still maintain that one of those bubbles was a Brunswick bubble and not an Edison bubble!

Gents,
Thanks so much. I'm having great fun posting those clips. There's a nice crowd of "phonophanatics" on YouTube, it's very enjoyable sharing phonographs and music there.
Regards, J.

Hey John,
Cool video! Is the recording technique adding some distortion to the voices on the high end or is that the way the record is sounding at home.. I just got that record will have to take a try with my new project and see what the results are?

Larry, cameras and general uplaoding to youtube can cause distortion just thru file conversions etc. It's a combination of things. I was testing out my Triumph the other night and took a nice video that came out looking and sounding great, once it had been compressed and uploaded, the story wasn't the same and I removed it! Camera microphones also tend to pick up and exxagerate certain frequencies. It can be a pain, but it IS fun to do! Sean

Yeah what Sean said. Larry, On that particular clip there was some wavering of the speed of the turntable as well. I don't know why, haven't had a problem since. Regards, J.

John
Finally got around to linking to some other records you played. Sounds pretty good overall from here.. I got my external speakers hooked to the right outlet and now they are working, a big improvement over the tiny ones in the bottom of the apple.. In the Dumbell piece is there a tendency for the sound to deteriorate towards the last? That seems to be a common problem and one I am encountering too. Overall from what I can tell your reproducer sounds pretty good.. Is it an original?

Larry,
I'm not 100% sure what one I had in there. I fairly certain it's one I got from Steve M.. It's rebuilt, but with an original diaphragm.
