I have two Gennet Lucky Bailey's for trade for Diamond Discs: #5154 Yes We have No Bannanas b/w Bebe and #5183 When June Comes Along With A Song and b/w First, Last and Always. I saw the first one sold on ebay for around thirty bucks, so I figure this one is worth twenty, and the other one I just don't know. I'll trust your reasonable evaluation. I'll send them to you postage paid if you will send me the equitable value in Diamond Discs postage paid. Deal?
Thanks, Dan Johnson

Hi Dan,
When you come up, bring those along. I'm sure we can work something out with the DDs I have here.

Dan, I have BL7's "Yes we have no bananas." It's the hottest rendition of the song ever recorded, and while it's not rare, it's one of their best and I agree that it's worth no less than $20 and may hit an unreasonably high figure.
As for the other one, it's probably worth what the average blue label BL7 record is worth. While I have gotten some cheap, I would say that "First, last and always" is worth about $7-12. The later BL7 records with the red label tend to bring in higher prices, probably due to the presence of Red Nichols and the fact that dance records from 1925 onward enjoy a wider buying audience.
Of course, this is just my opinion as a BL7 collector and is not meant to be expert advice on record value.
Bill, let me know if you're interested in selling any BL7 discs.
Rocky

Okay, thanks for the info Rocky. I recall you commented quite a bit on the band while on the other board. I'll dig around and see if I have any more. Another record I got is a Aeolian:Vocalion lateral record #140-12 Someone Like you by Nanette Flack b/w Alice Blue Gown by Marion Evelyn Cox. The Flack song is from the 1919 play Irene O'Dare but I have no recored of the ALice Blue Gown. Help anyone?
Thanks, Dan
