I have a Maroon GEM with a rebuilt Model K reproducer. I understand that the 4 minute stylus is intended for playing the 4 minute Amberols and NOT Blue Amberols. Is there a reproducer I can get to play Blue Amberols on a GEM? Thanks!

The 4 minute sapphire *can* play Blue Amberols; it just tends to wear slightly faster on celluloid. To use a Diamond B reproducer, you would need a different carriage; and I do not know that they made horizontal carriages for the Gem.

Since my original post I have discovered that there seems to have been a diamond reproducer made specifically for use on the GEM model D. In going through materials in the microfilm version of the Edison Papers, I found information in documents relating to filling various orders for the fall 1912 trade. These included a number of orders for various phonographs among which are listed:
-GEM Model D Combination type with K reproducers-200 -GEM Four Minute Type only with Diamond B reproducers-500
Is anyone here familiar with this particular configuration for a GEM?
