What is the best way to cement the eyelet to a glass diaphragm on the Edison automatic and early B? I finally found new glass diaphragms. $10 each or $70 for 10 post paid. www.cylinder.de/index2.htmlSteve

Steve,
If you would like, I can send you some stick shellac and you can either heat it with a soldering iron or dissolve it in a little denatured alcohol and make a thick paste from it.

Hi Bill,
Thanks again,
I used some flake shellac and a soldering iron and it worked very well. Someone suggested super glue, but I did not like the idea.

Hi Steve,
Happy to hear it worked out. Super glue isn't really a good option because if your off, you have to try to disolve it with acetone, whereas with shellac you can reheat and reposition or wipe with denatured alcohol and try again!

Bill,
Sorry for the ignorant question but where can stick shellac be purchased? I have never searched for it before.
What other uses are there for stick shellac?
Thanks, Scott

Hi Scott,
I use it in reparing watches, ie resetting pallet & roller table jewels. You might try S Larose. They carry watch repair material. I obtained mine by buying out watchmaker's tools in lots at auctions.
