I would gladly pay $500,000 to watch someone smash his $500,000 phonograph with an axe!
Well, it does come with a few needles! The needles alone are worth at least that much. And the 1950s records!
;D

I think the fact that he "wined" it up makes it worth the half mil.
Or perhaps he was "wined" up when he was pressing the zero key..................

It certainly makes you wonder where some people get the idea something like that would be worth so much. Surely they can see other machines selling for $200 or less. We had one listed here not so long ago for $5000. I thought that was bad enough. I guess he'd be asking $1,000,000 if all the needle cups were there.

Folks,
As Shane says, you gotta wonder where some people get there ideas of the value of something. Surely, within fifteen or twenty minutes on-line with Google or E-Bay would one some idea of an approximate value of something. One wonders if they actually want to sell it or not?

Bill,
That looks familiar as well. As we know there are always those "I-want-it-now-and-I-don't-care-what-it-takes" type of buyer. The trick is to be a seller when they're around. Heh heh!
Value is so very very relative.
Regards, J.

I asked the seller if I bid $1,000,000 for it whether he'd consider shipping it FREE to the UK for me. His reply was one word: YES! I can't work out from that single worded response if he knows that I know that he's an idiot or if he's genuinely "up for it" thinking that he might have won the jackpot?

Don't forget, Steve, a million bucks is worth about 50£ today, so for you it's a bargain!

I asked the seller if I bid $1,000,000 for it whether he'd consider shipping it FREE to the UK for me. His reply was one word: YES! Did you mean to type $100,000 instead of the $1,000,000 that you did type?

Er, NO! I did mean $1,000,000! If he's asking $500,000 for it with US exclusive shipping etc why would he accept "only" $100,000 from a non-US person and be expected to pay the shipping costs too? Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet, Henry but it's moving in the right direction for us I agree definitely!
